Emily Weintraub Fine Art offers a full range of appraisal services for American and European art:
  • Insurance appraisals and updates
  • Estate appraisals for IRS purposes
  • Charitable donation appraisals for IRS purposes
  • Fair Market Value appraisals for inventory purposes
  • Professional Opinion of Value — an abbreviated written appraisal with a range of values

Appraisals are prepared to the highest standards of quality, and include biographical information about the artist, details about the provenance of the work (if available) and a discussion of current market trends. Valuations are determined using multiple sources, including auction records, sales reports and trade information. High quality color photographs provide an important record of the work of art, and in the case of appraisals prepared for estate or charitable donation purposes, all necessary IRS paperwork is included and specific IRS standards are met. The appraisal allows an owner or executor to move forward with decisions about a work or works of art using a clear and thorough report as a guide.

Emily Weintraub is an Accredited Member of the Appraisers Association of America and holds a certificate in Appraisal Studies in Fine and Decorative Arts from New York University, as well as undergraduate degrees in Art History and French from Colby College. Emily has successfully completed the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) examination (compliant through April 2019) and works according to those standards.

Appraisal services are billed on an hourly basis.
